Jaguars owner Brian Radichel opens the 2022 campaign with news and information about NAFL plans for 2022! New venue, new schedule, and a new excitement!
Hey Jags fans! It's been a long time since my last post - nearly a year! But what a roller coaster of a year.
Since my last post, we had to cancel the 2021 season due to COVID concerns. Our league premise is that we will bring great European floorball talent to the United States to show American fans how great this game can be! Since our Euro players couldn't get into the country last summer, we elected to postpone our first season rather than put a lower-quality product on the floor.
This year we are back, and there's a lot of excitement! We are excited to announce that we have a home! The Jags will play at Nytex Arena in North Richland Hills, Texas. (https://www.nytexsports.com) We are VERY proud to be joining the NA3HL's Lone Star Brahmas at this amazing facility. Our venue will feature us playing before 600 plus fans on a great sport court surface, with easy access to an on-site sports bar and grill, concession stands, and all that North Richland Hills has to offer. North Richland Hills is part of the DFW Mid-Cities area, which is located conveniently close to DFW airport and only minutes from downtown Fort Worth. We'll soon announce our ticket site where you can get your early pass to all the action at Nytex!
We are also excited to recognize the Florida Vikings and the Utah Raptors, new teams into the NAFL. They join the Jags, the Texas Tornadoes (Austin) and the Fresno Force as the five first season teams in the league. The Cleveland Bucs withdrew from the league after our missed opportunity last season. This year's schedule has us moving from west to east, visiting first Fresno, then Salt Lake City, a week off for the World Games in Birmingham, Alabama, and then on to Orlando. After our competition in Orlando, it will be back to Nytex for a great four-day Week 4 schedule in the regular season, cumulating in the first ever Troy Cup Finals on Sunday, July 24! You won't want to miss a minute of the action here in Fort Worth, and we will have tickets on sale very soon so you can grab your rinkside seat to our inaugural season.
Besides the start of the NAFL season and the World Games, USA Floorball will host the 2022 North American World Floorball Championships Qualifier on April 29-30 in Fort Worth on the campus of TCU. Tickets will be $20 and you will also be able to witness the 2022 Texas Open, the fourth year straight of one of the best floorball tournaments in North America. Teams are coming from Fresno, Chicago, and Utah, as well as entries by the US Women's National Team, as well as two entries by our up and coming Men's U19 National Team! Come out and watch the future of US Floorball and cheer on the boys in red, white and blue!
We're happy to be back in action - look for a lot of information coming soon about new players and new opportunities to watch and play one of the fastest growing games in the US - FLOORBALL!!!
